Pay was good but I wish it cared more about laborer/helpers more . It seem to be only caring for craftman workers. It's a nice place to learn more crafts

They don’t care about the people.

They care about the money and having someone there. They tell you that they can get anyone to do this job. We have to look at for each other! Don’t go here!

I like working for McDermott, the pay is good for the job i do and fairly easy enough. The only thing is they mess up people pay checks sometimes but they got it together

Job taught me to be a man

Job taught me to be a man and allowed me to learn many skills as in flagging etc... I would recommend working there to anyone. The pay was pretty good as well.

I learned a lot far as in hands on training.Hard work does pays off with decent and qualified experience as well.The type of industry was construction based oil tech lummus..

Great experience being if was my first industrial job but lack of good management all around, many safety hazards and fatalities happened while I was working with this company

Great learning expericene

It was a great learning experience from straight out of high school to adulthood and gave me the knowledge an skill that will carry over for the rest of my life. Far as being to work on time at 6:30 am and waking up a hour earlier just to beat traffic, Presenting myself as a worker looking professional , and teaching me the art of competitiveness and bettering yourself. The hardest part of the job was the traffic honestly and those hard days of having to shovel to level the sand. Bushing the concrete use to be hard until you get better at it, they switched from air guns to electric guns so that really was a big difference and showed everyone they cared about their workers. The management is also great they make you a better person an is more like a mentor but also they still expect you to handle your business. The best part I loved about the job was teamwork an dedication. I had this understanding that if we finished early, and handled our business, and came to work every day it would just make life and work easier. I always lived by the term "Lead by example and the outcome of your actions will make them follow." I am not the type to make others life harder or tell them anything so i focused on surrounding myself with the right people or people who strive to do better while being positive.

Good hours. Good pay. Good people. A little far to drive every morning. Got to be bused in to the job site. Diversity of people. Management is ok. Need a raise for sure been working for McDermott for a year still making same pay

Productive and precise workplace

McDermott was a power plant that showed pride in getting the job done on schedule while remaining as safe as possible. While there, I was presented with an opportunity to further my education in other crafts that would lead into a career suppose to just a job.

Productive

I enjoyed working at the fabrication shop for McDermott/CB&I. I learned the most while working with the welders and pipe fitters. Very professional and worth being around so many intelligent men and women, that knew their skill and willing to teach while working.

Many things going on. Have to be focused at all times

A typical day of work consists of the bus ride to the job site, signing in, completing JSA before work begins and going to work. I learned how to clean out concrete forms, the reason to bush the concrete form when it's first poured, learned to operate compressor. Hardest part of job is working in the intense heat or the cold weather.

Fun and nice people to work with

Start the day with safety meetings. learned the function of inside of a boiler, pumps, bag houses. Learned the proper procedure of the lockout/tagout process.

Good pay,full benefits,they help you and your family if needed,works only 6 months out of the year ,spend more time with your family after contract is over,good relationship with others,take to other job site out of state and good trinning

Productive & wonderful place to work.

It was a great experience. I started straight out of high school so was good for me & my family. I’ll advise anyone to work there . I loved my job & hate that I had to let it go

Was always interesting

I enjoyed my time at CB&I. I was able to experience many different types of jobs. I was able meet and work along side many different employees ranging from craft to the Director of Construction.

What i like about CB&I was working 10 hours getting paid 16.00 and hour and what i did out there was chipping, brushing, watching the water pump out water , picking up trash.
