Job Overview

The Director of Sales & Marketing will lead our commercial strategy, drive revenue growth, and strengthen our brand presence. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic marketing initiatives, and overseeing client relationships to expand footprint in the events industry. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a deep understanding of the events market, strong networking skills, and a proven track record in sales and marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive business growth.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Lead pitch presentations, Site Inspection and oversee contract negotiations to secure high-value contracts.

Marketing Strategy & Brand Positioning:

  • Develop and implement marketing plans that align with the company’s growth objectives.
  • Enhance brand visibility through digital marketing, content creation, and PR strategies in conjunction with regional Digital Marketing working team
  • Oversee the production of marketing materials, including social media, email campaigns, and event promotions.
  • Analyse market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for differentiation.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and manage the account management team, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
  • Assign roles and responsibilities across teams to maximize efficiency.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance reviews for team members.
  • Lead and oversee wider Indonesia team when required.

Client & Stakeholder Management:

  • Ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnerships by overseeing the delivery of events once secured
  • Review pipeline performance data to optimize conversion rates and increase opportunities for customer engagement and retention.
  • Work closely with internal teams (events, operations, finance) to ensure seamless client experiences.
  • Collaborate with inhouse creative resources to drive constant innovation and new ideas in client proposals
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with local vendors.

Revenue & Performance Management:

  • Set and achieve sales and revenue targets for the organization.
  • Monitor KPIs and provide reports on sales performance, marketing ROI, and customer acquisition.
  • Optimize pricing strategies and supplier procurement practices to maximize profitability.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in sales and marketing within the events, hospitality, or MICE industries.
  • Knowledge and understanding of local regulations for best practices in DMC and MICE industries.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Proven track record in business development, revenue generation, and strategic marketing.
  • Excellent written and verbal negotiation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing, social media, and brand positioning.
  • Ability to travel as needed for business development and client meetings.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
